Leon A. Brown Ltd is honoured to have donated an original piece by renowned Inuit artist Ningeokuluk Teevee to the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Teevee is a celebrated Canadian Inuk artist. Her comprehensive knowledge of Inuit legends, along with a fine sense of design and composition, have made many of her prints highly sought after by collectors.

Dog with KamiksThe piece, titled Dog with Kamiks, was presented by Leon A. Brown Ltd Executive Vice President Jon Brown, at the North American premier of Ningeokuluk Teevee: Kinngait Stories, an exhibition of contemporary Inuit art at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. The show was curated by the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

“Leon A. Brown Ltd donated Dog with Kamiks on behalf of all Canadians in recognition of Canada 150, and in memory of our father Ashley Brown. Dad was a hunter, a fisherman, and overall a huge advocate of our Country’s great wild and northern spaces.”

Ningeokuluk Teevee is a Canadian Inuk writer and artist. Her first children’s book, Alego, was a nominee for the 2009 Governor General’s Award for children’s literature illustration.
